Exercises from «Basic Geology»

We have now released exercises from the GeoCLASS module «Basic Geology». This means you can get a dipoloma confirming your abilities. The exercises are available to all lisenced GeoCLASS users. You find the exercises opening the module, or via this direct link: http://www.unigeo.no/features/exercises/questionaire/test/basicGeology Adding exercises to all existing modules is a priority, look out for updates!

Geophysics Course in Bolivia

UniGEO is currently arranging courses in Bolivia under the auspices of NPD. We have two instructors giving the courses. In addion the students are using GeoCLASS for preperation and during the course for solving tasks.

GeoCLASS in Makarere University, Uganda

UniGEO has been part of a project at The University in Makarere in collaboration with the University of Bergen. The goal of the project is to assist The University of Makerere in Uganda with petroleum related education.

In this project GeoCLASS is used actively, in teaching and self studies and we are really exited to see how this project develops.

If you open one of the topics Basic Geophysics or Seismic Surveying you will find a new button. This button functions as a link to exercises related to these topics. If you pass the test; getting more then 70% correct answers, you will get a certificate. We are working to add exercises to the other topics.

Successful courses in Bolivia

UniGEO arranged two courses in Bolivia April 2012, in collaboration with the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, YPFB, UMSA and UAGRM. The courses were introduction courses in geophysics.

From our point of view the two courses were a great success. The students were eager to learn and did a great job. We used a questionnaire to obtain proper feedback. Here we sum up some answers from the most relevant questions.

In La Paz we arranged a course for the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés 23 and 24. April.
